11 weeks :)

Dear Lil Sprout,

You were a wily little thing today!  We went to the doctor for a short appointment and to hear your heartbeat.  I was pretty nervous because your daddy didn't go with me, and I was so scared something might have happened to you without me knowing it.  I'm just constantly thinking about how fragile your little life is, and I want to take the best care of you that I can.  Anyway, you were fine and in stubborn form!  The medical assistant tried to get your heartbeat with the doppler, but she couldn't find you.  That scared me.  About 10 minutes later, Dr. Hill came in.  You'd let her catch you for a beat or two, then you'd dart off again.  She finally tracked you down and clocked you at 175 bpm. :)  The whole "oh, over 140 is a girl, under 140 is a boy" thing is just an old wive's tale, but it does make me wonder if you're a girl.

We're going to find out what you are on my birthday, June 5!  I'm very excited.  Cousin Teri is going to make cupcakes with pink or blue filling, and our closest friends and family are going to go out to eat with us to find out and celebrate. :) So, make sure your legs are open on June 5 so we can see what we've got.  That's the only time I'm going to tell you that, so enjoy it.  Especially if you're a girl. :P

Happy 9 week birthday!

Dear Little Sprout,

Today, you are nine weeks old and the size of a grape...  Only daddy and I ate all of the grapes, so I had to substitute a grape tomato:

We are doing okay and mostly feeling a little better stomach-wise...  We are not sleeping very well at all though!  Today, we got a banana pudding milkshake at Chick-Fil-A.  I'm totally blaming that one on you because before today, I don't think I'd bought a milkshake in years! :P

8 weeks!

Dear Little Sprout,

You are 8 weeks old today!  You are also making it abundantly clear that you don't like Mondays.  I don't like them either.  Can we just agree to get through them as painlessly as possible? :)

I got to see you!

Dear Little Sprout,

Daddy and I got to see you today at our first prenatal appointment!  You are so small; look at you!

Apparently, you are standing on your head here.  The kind of bad news is that our due date got pushed back to November 19, so it's going to be longer before I get to meet you.  Just get comfortable because we have a long haul, babe!  We still have all day sickness, too, so I am hoping we get over that soon!

It was amazing to see and hear your little heartbeat today.  I can't believe you're real!
