Nervous!

Dear Little Sprout,

Well, it's day 2 of me knowing you're in my life, and a lot has happened in the past day!  I told your daddy by putting a "Big Sister" t-shirt on your cat-sister, Lola.  He didn't really get it at first until I showed him the 3 positive pregnancy tests.  He was dazed and scared at first, but he is getting excited.  We told both sets of your grandparents, your great-grandparents, and a lot of our friends and other relatives.  Everyone is so excited about you!

Today, you and I went to get a blood test.  I think it was a little pointless given that 3 tests were positive, and you've enjoyed nauseating me for the past week and a half, but it's a good reassurance, I suppose.  I was trying to read about the things I'm not supposed to do now that you're living in me, and well...  It scared me because I'd already done some of them!  Now I'm terrified that I hard-boiled you in a warm bath, or microwaved you under the electric blanket, or drugged you with Advil, or poisoned you with feta cheese and deli turkey, or that you're bopping around from too much caffeine, or...  All of the rules make me crazy, but I guess you're just preparing me for the control you'll have over my life. :P

The only symptom I really have right now is nausea, pretty much on and off all day whenever you feel like it... This morning, I bought a combo at Burger King and by the time I got to work, I had to give my hash browns to a co-worker because after smelling them, you decided you didn't want them. :P

We also got a massage today and your cousin Teri gave us cupcakes!  Your future godmother, Andrea, sent me flowers yesterday, and those are still sitting pretty on my desk at work. :)

I'll do my best to take care of you, kiddo.

Love,

Mommy
